Okay world...where were you when your third-grade teacher explained how it's impolite and inconsiderate to phone people before 9 a.m. and after 9 p.m.? Believe it or not, many people WANT down-time when they're not instantly accessible, even in today's world of tweeting and other forms of social media.
I am a mother and will ALWAYS answer the phone, no matter what time of day or night, just to be certain it isn't one of my kids in trouble. When a call comes in at 7 in the morning and I dash, soaking wet, out of the shower to answer, it ding-dong better be a call that couldn't be made at any other time by someone who really NEEDS to speak to me right away, or you wouldn't believe the face pulling and fist pounding going on undetected at my end of the phone.
